Throughout the twentieth century, Iranian filmmakers never ceased to fight against monarchical and then Islamic power. From this confrontation, an original cinematography emerged and is today exported worldwide. This documentary reveals the story of the unexpected success of Iranian cinema, from the Shah period (1925), to the present day, through the revolution and the Iran-Iraq war. Crossed fates of cinema and power illustrated by archival footage, extracts from pre- and post-revolutionary films, and interviews with the main protagonists of the Iranian cinema.
